Looking for something delicious this Easter for the kid-at-heart nibblers? These cute baby chick cheese balls make fun and easy Easter appetizers your guests will love. With shredded cheddar cheese, carrot beaks and feet and peppercorn eyes, served on a round cracker perch.These bite sized balls of fun are so cute and the perfect size to pop right in your mouth! Easter made by you, loved by all.

 

 

 

Ingredients

  • 227g cream cheese
  • 1 ½ cup cheddar or tasty cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ¼ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 block of Red Leicester cheese, shredded
  • 24 peppercorns for eyes
  • 1 carrot (cut in chick shaped feet, small triangles for beaks)
  • 1 pack of crackers (we recommend a round shape)
  • 1 cup of herbs (choose from rocket, watercress or basil or whatever your nibbler prefers most)
Method

Mix the cream cheese, the shredded cheddar or tasty cheese, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce with salt and pepper.

Roll into 4-5cm balls, place on tray and refrigerate for at least an hour.

Remove from fridge and before serving roll the balls in the shredded Red Leicester cheese so they are fully covered.

Add 2 peppercorns as eyes, carrot triangle nose to each rolled ball and then place  on the cut out carrot feet.

Finally place the baby chick cheese balls on your cracker of choice and layout chicks on a bed of herbs.
